This section, unlike the first one, is for the therapists’ use only.
As already said, besides the essential aspect of self control, there is also an equally important aspect which consists in breaking down the emotional blocks which disturb our lives.
The self help treatment consisting in bringing back the energy system into balance, is one of great consequence as it helps us to control these negative emotions that threaten to overcome us; however this alone doesn’t guarantee that, in the future we will not re-create the same old patterns over and over again, precisely because of these mental blocks.
P.B.A allows the deprogramming of psychological blocks. I’m ready to teach this particular method to any willing therapists (psychologists, osteopaths, reflexologists...)
A certain number of kinesiological associations, such as Maddalena Gualtieri in Europe or Professional Health Practice International in Auckland, NZ, work on the deprogramming of former emotional blocks.
Nevertheless, this method is time-consuming and often tedious (percussion of specified muscle groups or E.M.D.R.) whereas P.B.A. makes the deprogramming of mental blocks accurate, rapid and reliable (only one to three treatment sessions are necessary in the vast majority of cases).
How do we create all these mental blocks? Most of them originate from early childhood as children function on the emotional level only. The part of the brain which enables us to put things into perspective is the Prefrontal Cortex, also called the area of sober second thought. The Prefrontal cortex is the last part of the brain to mature –which may be why teens get into so much trouble.
Any event that occurs before the age of ten, even if apparently insignificant, is then likely to produce an emotional block which will affect the psycho affective functioning of the individual as an adult.
Of course, an adult can also create conditioning patterns which will sabotage his or her existence. But these conditioning patterns usually have their roots in tragic events such as a betrayal or the death of a loved one, whereas a child still deprived of a Prefrontal Cortex, is liable to create conditioning patterns emanating from trivial incidents, generally gone unnoticed by his family.
What we have to bear in mind here is that these Mental Blocks, once installed, cannot be overlooked. They are stored within the Amygdala; a part of the brain situated in its lower area. The Mental Blocks prevent us from heading where we want to go; they sabotage our projects, and completely escape our free will. Actually, they function as a switch on a railway track: there’s no way of getting to your destination once a switch directs you towards a siding. On the other hand, if the switch is removed, no effort will be required, no extra power will need to be added to the train, and you will safely reach your destination.
In the same way, if your emotional block is de-programmed, you will naturally act according to your genetic programming. In other words, you will be your true self again and the vicious circle in which you were trapped, forever reiterating the same mistakes, will be ended. You’ll be free at last to lose weight, to become pregnant (an impossibility so far despite normal gynecological check- ups) or to regain your self-confidence.
The mode of action of P.B.A regarding its programming is easy to understand: it is simple if we bear in mind that our thoughts are pure energy. The tricky part is to identify the mental block, the rest follows easily. As soon as the patient realizes that his therapist has identified and specified the mental block that worries him (for example, the panic not to be good enough), his brain automatically produces the energy peculiar to that mental block. The circuit of P.B.A. which is used, then breaks down this energy. On the other hand, as the acupressure points stimulated by the PBA process release endorphins to the brain area, the passage of the Mental Block from the unconscious to the conscious is painless. No side effects are to be expected in the following days.
This is as simple as that. A few months after the treatment, the patient realizes that he has gained self confidence, that he is not scared anymore of being in love, that he feels safe to live in a foreign land and, in the case of a female patient, that to become pregnant is a secure decision.
On this note, two extra comments should be added: first, the healing is extremely faster than in any classic therapy; all we have to do is to annul the conditionings. Initially, some sort of “bad” habit might persist, just as when a smoker who has just quit, feels his pocket in search of cigarettes. Some time may be needed, but after a while, the hand won’t make for the pocket. The second comment I’d like to make is, that, unlike a classic therapy, you don’t have to know why or how you produced your mental block. There’s no need to explore the past, there’s no need for excruciating pain. The conditioning pattern is just erased.
Let us go back briefly to our metaphor of the switch and the train heading to the wrong direction: the only thing to do is to get rid of the switch; questions such as “who did that and why?” are pointless.
The difference between my method and the classic therapies might be illustrated in this simple way: let us visualize our traveler who, frustrated of never reaching his destination, makes up his mind to follow the track on foot. Let’s say that the walk along the track is the therapy. At a certain point, he comes to the switch and realizes what is wrong. However, the switch is still physically present, and it has to be removed if the traveler wants to resume his journey. Otherwise, mere understanding of the situation leads to nowhere.
Classic therapies often enable people to become aware of what is wrong- which may be good as it may be a relief to understand how one works- however, mere realization is likely to be limited if deprogramming does not follow.
Changing one’s behaviour while trying to keep the mental block in check is certainly possible, yet this needs a remarkable amount of energy and precious time.
Nevertheless, we have to keep in mind that, as effective as P.B.A. is regarding most depressions and neuroses, as well as a certain number of phobias and psychoses, it does not treat extremely severe psychiatric diseases which demand other treatments, particularly medicinal.
However, as my method allows a rapid healing for the majority of depressive or emotionally disturbed people, it may be considered a huge progress that saves time and money. It is important for us to understand that when we are unhappy, our unconscious mind knows that we are not functioning in harmony with our true nature. Therefore the only way by which it can warn us and indicate what is wrong with us, is to devise a disturbance which plays the role of a red flag that will persist as long as the real issues are not dealt with and solved.
In conclusion, we have to bear in mind that health problems arise when our energy level is out of balance or depleted. Enjoying a harmonious relationship with ourselves can only mean to recover a sound energy system; to bring it back into balance. This can be done if, on a daily basis, we apply the technique of the circuits we would have formerly studied and memorized, followed by deprogramming our mental blocks. This second part needs the help of a therapist trained to sense, to verbalize and, thanks to this specific acupressure technique, to annul the mental blocks.
This is exactly what theP.B.A. -psycho bio acupressure- process does.
